My favourite small Instagram businesses you need to discover

Dear Diary,

Ever since I first started on Instagram, I have been completely blown away by how many small businesses there are; You wouldn't believe it. However, it's trying to make yourself stand out in the crowd that's even harder to do.

As you may or may not know, my Instagram account is very pink, girly and beauty orientated and I'm always on the look out for that perfect addition to add to my beauty room to have not just on display for me, but to show all of my loyal followers too. Small businesses have been hit the hardest over the past 16 months and it's important now more than ever to raise awareness to those businesses that create the most stunning, handmade items, all by themselves (sometimes with 1 or 2 extra people if they are lucky), to deliver the most unique items that you could own. It is for this reason, that I decided to create this blog post to highlight what I think are some of the best small businesses that I have come across, that you need to discover. Enjoy.

Love Becky. Xxx

Pearls Pretty Petals:

I stumbled upon this small business from a recommendation from another Instagram account and as soon as I saw her feed, I was already planning my purchase. This small business specialises in making personalised floral hoops and letters and I was on the look out for something similar that would be the perfect fit for my beauty room. The business is run by a lovely lady, who is a part time nurse for the NHS and mother to 2 beautiful little girls. All items are priced extremely well, and they are actually cheaper than what you would find elsewhere. From the moment you place your order with this lady, to the moment it arrives in your hands, the whole experience is just such a pleasant one as she is just such the loveliest lady. I have already made a couple of purchases from this small business and I will not hesitate to buy more. The hoops can be designed in a range of colours and the flowers used can be to suit your tastes too. All you have to do is pop a message over to the owner and she will get back to you very quickly. The one bonus of purchasing these hoops is that you can have fairy lights wrapped around it at no extra charge! What a bargain! I couldn't recommend this business enough and I'm sure you will find something to fit your needs too.

Bubble Glam Designs:

I can not tell you how excited I was when I discovered this business. I was on the look out for glam coffee mugs for the longest time, but a lot of businesses on Instagram who sell them are based in the USA, and it would have been hard to purchase an item from them without paying over the odds in shipping fees. There is such an array of different designs that can be purchased and you get to choose what style of mug you can have a design on, from heart shaped handles, to glitter and even bone china mugs. The designs are absolutely stunning and new designs are added weekly to the website so you'll never get bored of the same images. The business has also ventured into selling not just glam coffee mugs, but also tumblers, water bottles, prints and planners to which you can all customise and choose how to design it. The prices are so reasonable for the items that are on offer, plus it's free shipping over a £10 spend. What a bargain. There is something for everyone from this business and I can absolutely guarantee you will not be disappointed. Also, you have to follow the owner (Magda) on Instagram as she does the most funny daily stories that will have you in stitches.

Pretty Lovely's:

If you follow me regularly on Instagram than you will know that I'm no stranger when it comes to a wax melt, lol. I first started getting into them at the start of this year after seeing so many people using them online and I thought I would jump on the band wagon. I have not looked back. My wax melt collection is ever-growing with purchases made from a few businesses and the more I purchase than the more I am understanding which scents I like the most. One thing I love about this business is that the owner (Amy) creates the cutest shapes and has really pretty designs (almost too pretty to burn). If you love pastel colours, pretty packaging and all things cute than definitely check this business out. Other items also stocked include body whips, bath bombs, home décor and you'll soon be able to pre-order her very first Christmas advent calendar. You won't be disappointed.

Project Plan:

If your a lover of all things stationary and organisation, than this is a business for you. With the aim of helping you to live your best life and get your life organised, an array of items are sold such as stationary, vision books, checklist, acrylic signs and sticker books; your bound to find something to scratch that crafting itch. I have purchased quite a few items from this small business and with even more exciting up and coming releases (not to mention an amazing Christmas collection) you would be mad to miss out. Plus, did I mention that they ship worldwide? The owner of this business (Chelsey) also collaborates and works alongside other small businesses and content creators to deliver top notch content for her blog from nutrient and well-being experts, to mindfulness and meal prepping ideas. It's worth a read.

I am also excited to announce that I will be a guest writer for Chelsey's blog in September to raise awareness of PCOS awareness month (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and how incorporating the use of stationary such as checklist, vision books, mood trackers and meal planning can help with the struggles that come along with this condition such as low mood, lack of self-esteem and motivation and weight struggles. Keep your eyes peeled for that.

Tinkertales:

We all imagined it as a child didn't we? To have Tinker bell as our best friend? Well I did anyway, lol. Well now you can in the form of a fairy ornament of your choice. Doll creators has been a trend that has been increasing in popularity over the years (which is something I only discovered a few months ago) and I can see why. Handmade to absolute perfection, you can't argue that it isn't a true artform as the attention to detail that goes into every Fairy created is admired by many, including me. I was so delighted when I came across this business and was just in awe of the many creations that had been made. I knew I wanted one to take pride of place in my beauty room. Accessories can also be purchased to go along with your new best friend, including fairy doors, fairy swings and even little hamper baskets if you want to set up a little picnic scene with it. I highly recommend you check this small business out and also widen your horizons into the world of doll creators.

DIY kits are also sold so if you are a budding crafter like myself, than you can buy the kits at a very discounted price and make and design the pieces yourself like I did in my press for beauty sign. New designs are regularly added to the website and the Christmas collection will go live in September which is an absolute must see. I definitely have a few pieces on my Wishlist such as the Dior storage box and an 'Adeline standing dome' as it just takes me back to being 18 in Paris. Scrunched up:

Now, I'm no stranger to a scrunchie. Especially given the global situation the last 16 months, the one thing I've been rocking apart from the same pair of pyjamas is a scrunchie. Introducing, Scrunched up, a small business which started up during lockdown by a young mother creating just a few scrunchies, and now her business has grown into a roaring success. Stocking dozens of different fabrics and designs, there' a scrunchie out there for everyone. Whether that be Disney, Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh, floral, rainbow, double layered, silk, you name it it's going to be there. Did I also mention that you can buy a personalised, silk scrunchie bag that can fit up to 20 scrunchies? They come in the colours pink, white and black and you can choose which colour vinyl to be used on the bag for the name. I can confirm that I have already purchased a white one (don't worry I will be ordering a pink one once back in stock) and I can not wait to receive it. Keep an eye out on my Instagram for when it arrives.

Prices for the scrunchies are £3 each/2 for £5 and the Scrunchie bags are £6 each plus £2 shipping.
