My Birthday weekend celebrations 2021

Dear Diary,

This year for my birthday I was definitely more excited to organise some plans for my birthday due to a couple of reasons. One being because I knew there would be more flexibility in what I could actually do as last year we were in lockdown, and two being that my birthday lands on a weekend this year, so I knew that I wanted to have my birthday celebrations last all weekend long. Needless to say I was anxious in the run up to my birthday due to the latest updates on the news about the current pandemic (I'm sure we've all seen them) as I wasn't sure if my plans would go ahead or not. However, I was still able to carry out my birthday plans in a safe way with my family, and I had the best time. If you would like to see what I did this year for my birthday, than carrying on reading below and I hope you enjoy it.

Love Becky. Xxx

P.S. I'm going to leave a list of all the presents I received at the end of this blog as celebrating a birthday is about more than receiving materialistic items to me, and I wanted to showcase the activities that I undertook with my family more.

Saturday: My Birthday!

The day started like any other birthday. My mum and sister running into my room singing happy birthday while handing me my presents, sweet treats and cards that I have received from various people in my life. We would have a laugh and a giggle and than take a moment of reflection to think of those who we have lost in our lives. One including my grandad who we unfortunately lost to cancer 3 years ago (he passed away the day before my birthday in December 2018, so my birthday is always a day of celebration, reflection and remembrance). After having a chat amongst each other, I would open all of my presents while my cat (Teddy Bond) entertains himself with all my birthday wrapping and balloons spread out on the floor.

After getting myself ready and eating breakfast, one of the most exciting parts for me is getting ready to go out, as I can pick out my outfit, jewellery and perfume of the day while watching some YouTube videos while getting ready at my vanity. Ever since I've had my beauty room, getting ready has become a whole different experience for me and I just love pampering myself and getting ready for the day ahead in my room. It seems to add that extra luxurious feel to it and make the day feel even more special.

For my birthday, one present I bought for myself was a couple of theatre tickets to see White Christmas. This is a performance that I had wanted to see for around 2 years now and I had heard good things about it. Of course with it being my birthday and not actually having a lot of opportunities to go out for the last 2+ years, I treated myself to the ambassador experience, where myself and my mum would watch the show in our own private box with champagne, chocolates and sweet treats. We absolutely loved it and we were even escorted to our box via our own private entry way so we didn't have to mix with the massive crowd of people. I felt so pampered and so special on the day, which added an extra element of magic on the day.

After an amazing performance I headed home to open the rest of my presents while sipping on my favourite rose (blossom hill) and eating macarons. The whole day was so magical and my sister even baked me some gingerbread biscuits for when I got back home.

Sunday: Day 2 of my birthday

Originally I wanted to dine out on my actual birthday however, the restaurant we had booked had very limited timeslots available on that specific day (even when booking weeks in advance), so I decided it would be nice to go out for a post birthday meal instead. Myself, my mum, sister and stepdad went into Manchester city centre to an Italian restaurant called 'ZiZi's' which we have all been to before. I opted to have lasagne and garlic bread, with freshly squeezed lemonade and oh my word, it was absolutely beautiful. I have never tasted anything with so much flavour in my life. I personally complemented the chef and gave a tip as it was worthy of it. After a delicious dinner, we all headed out to explore the Christmas markets which we didn't stay at too long as it was just too overcrowded and instead opted to do a bit of shopping in Primark.

I managed to pick myself up a new set of pyjamas and a loungewear set (which are so fluffy and comfortable by the way), and I even spotted a new addition to the store. A new café had been put up the day before and it was the one and only 'central perk' café from the hit TV show friends. I couldn't believe my eyes and I actually gasped when I saw it. I would have loved to have gone in for a quick cup of coffee and a sweet treat but the tables were all full and a que had already started to form so I just admiring it all from the background instead.

After a bit of shopping, I than headed home to pop straight into my new PJ'S and to catch up on Strictly Come Dancing as I had missed it the day before. All in all I had a really safe and happy time for my birthday and it was one of the best birthdays I've had in a long time.
